Dr. Robert Reisch - Encino Orthopedics October 20, 2016
Dr. Robert Reisch's primary objective is to help your broken bone to mend as quickly as possible, and with the least disruption to your life. Although in some cases broken bones or fractures may be treated with non-surgical methods, in many cases orthopedic surgery is necessary to ensure a full recovery. Wherever possible, Dr. Reisch will opt to perform arthroscopic surgery as opposed to an older, open surgery technique.
Arthroscopic surgery for a broken bone or fracture involves the use of a miniature video camera which is inserted via a series of tiny incisions in order to minimize the risk of infection, and to allow for faster healing of the incisions. By employing the use of the camera, expert orthopedic surgeon Dr. Reisch, Founder of Encino Orthopedics, is able to observe the bone fracture up close and in real-time as the tiny cameras project images of the injured area onto a computer monitor. Using tiny surgical instruments, and the images as a guide, he can then perform the necessary procedures to treat the fracture. In addition, because arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Reisch can perform this surgery as an outpatient procedure in most cases.
Other benefits of using
minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery to treat broken bones and fractures in the San Fernando Valley include:
-
Faster return to daily activities
-
Less joint stiffness
-
Less need for pain medication
